Ojai Valley Trail Clean Up Days

Ventura Velo has signed an agreement with County of Ventura's Parks Department to help maintain two sections of the Ojai Valley Trail and we will be holding monthly Ojai Valley Trail Clean Up Days. The last Ojai Valley Trail Clean Up Day was held on January 19, 2008. We pick up nine bags of trash and debris and disposed of them properly.

The first Ventura Velo Cross Country Tour has started and will arrive in Key West, Florida, in early May, 2008. This tour will follow the Adventure Cycling Assocation's Southern Tier route from the west coast to the east coast and section 7 of the Atlantic Coast route to Key West. Ventura Velo wants to thank all the volunteers, members of Team Ventura Velo, and our Directors who helped in the clean up and provided support for the Ojai Valley Clean Up Days this past year because they could have been doing other things! Thank you, very much, and keep up the good work in making our community a better place!

Ventura Velo's directors have determined that this year we will contribute funds to additional 501c3 charitable groups that assist in our fund raising events and trail maintenance activities. If your organization is interested in helping, please contact Ventura Velo for more informaion.

The next clean up day will be held in February just before the 2008 The Mardi Gras Century. If you would like to join us and help, just email us and you will be sent infomration needed to join in our clean up event.

Ventura Velo is supporting Biking to Work and will
help riders find good routes.

Ventura Velo is planning some special biking events for this year. They include the Ventura Keys to Key West Tour (3892 miles in ten weeks), the Simi Cajun Fest Bike Ride and Dance (40 miles to the Fest and a return ride back to the start) in May, and of course our yearly fund raising tour events, the Mardi Gras Century, and the Three Harbors Tour. Please contact us for more information on joining in to help and riding in these events.

Ventura Velo is looking for sponsors for the next Mardi Gras Century, the Ventura Keys to Key West Tour, and the Three Harbors Tour. If your company would be intrested in helping support our tour events please contact us.

Ventura Velo's Mardi Gras Century (MGC) will be held on the last Saturday in February and the Three Harbors Tour (3HT) will be held on the Saturday after July 4. In future years these tours will be held on those days as well. Please email the ride master and he will awnser your questions about the future tours and other Ventura Velo riding events, such as the Simi Valley Cajun Fest Ride and Dance in May of every year.
