Ojai Valley Trail Clean Up Days
	Ventura Velo has signed an agreement with County of Ventura's Parks Department to help maintain two sections of the Ojai Valley Trail and we will be holding monthly Ojai Valley Trail Clean Up Days. The last Ojai Valley Trail Clean Up Day was held on March 6, 2010. We picked up four big bags of trash and debris and disposed of them properly.	The first Ventura Velo Cross Country Tour was completed on June 1, 2008. This tour followed the Adventure Cycling Assocation's Southern Tier route from the west coast to the east coast and section 7 of the Atlantic Coast route to Key West. Ventura Velo is planning more long distance tours for later this year including a ride from the Seattle area to the San Diego area, which is about 1700 miles on the Pacific Coast Route, starting in August. Ventura Velo wanted to thank all the volunteers, members of Team Ventura Velo, and our Directors who helped support for our Fundraising Tours and the Ojai Valley Clean Up Days this past year. So we gave a party for them in early January 2009. The food was good and the company was great. Thank you all again.	Ventura Velo's directors have determined that this year we will contribute funds to additional 501c3 charitable groups that assist in our fund raising events and trail maintenance activities. PLEASE join us along with Ventura's City Core Volunteers to help clean up the Ojai Trail.    Earn Community Service Hours & make our local trails cleaner for cycling safety & better environment! Ventura Velo is supporting Biking to Work Day events and will help riders find good routes.	Ventura Velo is planning some special biking events for this year. They include the the Simi Cajun Fest Bike Ride and Dance (40 miles to the Fest and a return ride back to the start) in late May, and of course our yearly fund raising tour events, the new Tour du Green, and the Three Harbors Tour. Please contact us for more information on joining in to help and riding in these events.	Ventura Velo is working with local and state agencies to address the need to increase bicycling facilities and to make them as safe as possible.
