The 2007 THREE HARBORS TOUR took place on July 7, 2007,
or 7-7-7, a lucky day.
The riders enjoyed great weather and Ventura Velo received so many positive comments about the
route, the support, the food, and our volunteer staff and that brings us much pleasure. We want to thank you all very much
for your support for Team Ventura Velo.
If you are intrested in finding out more about the site where the event was
staged, you can search Google Maps for the location of Ventura
Harbor Village.
The Ventura Bike Depot was a great help
and we recommend them as a place to rent bicycles and to have work done on your bike when you are in need.
Ruby McCormick
of RubyFotos.com took photos of the riders and you can get photos
and other item by going to her website. Ruby will be contributing 20% on any profits on the photos to Ventura Velo.

The Century Route starts in Ventura Harbor and rides along the
coast to the Channel Islands Harbor and then makes it's way to and rides along the Ventura Foothills. The route then climbs
slowly up the River Trails and the Ojai Valley Trail towards Ojai where it makes the turn towards Santa Barbara on HWY 150.
The route continues around Lake Casitas where there is a 2 mile climb to an elevation of 1100 feet followed by a long down
hill and another climb of about a mile. The route continues thru Carpinteria orchards into Summerland and on to Santa Barbara
Harbor where the route makes it's turn back toward Ventura. The riders then follows the official Pacific Coast Bke route

The Metric Century route follow the same path as the
century route until the riders reach Santa Ana Road and the Lake Casitas recreation area entrance facilities. There the Metric
riders turn back toward Ventura and ride along the side of the lake enjoying scenic views of the lake and mountains around
it. The riders follow Santa Ana Road back to Foster Park again for a rest stop there and then head back to Ventura along
the River Trail. This route is rated as moderate in difficulty under the BRDAA rating system.
All three routes are
designed as training rides for the California Coast Classic Tour and they
contain many of the elements you will encounter in that event.

The Half Metric Route starts in Ventura Harbor and heads
down the coast to Channel Islands Harbor and then heads towards the Ventura Foothills along slow and steady climbs. As the
riders reach Ventura they use some lovely paved bike trails thru the city and past several parks. The route has mostly gentle
climbs until your reach the foothills and then there is a little up and down along the base of the hills as the riders head
thru Ventura and into the downtown area. This is route is rated as easy to moderate on the BRDAA rating system.
